PD Type-C power bank

2019-05-11

This design is a high-standard mobile power solution that supports the PD protocol. It provides a Type-A charging interface and two new Type-C high-power charging interfaces. It supports bidirectional input and output on one TYPE-C interface. Both C ports support PD protocol. It can support QC2.0/3.0 protocol and input and output of up to 100W (requires 5A E-Mark Cable). The USB TYPE-A interface supports traditional 5V charging and supports the Apple Fast Charge Protocol.

As the SoC controller chip, the UPD300 is responsible for implementing board-level system policy/state control and indication for the mobile power master. Combined with the bidirectional BUCK-BOOST power IC (SC815), the chip can access and control the external power IC through the standard I2C digital serial interface / PWM interface, thus achieving charge / discharge / buck-boost / power system settings. In this solution, two UPD300 chips also implement state synchronization through the I2C interface, thereby realizing global system policy management.
